A little history
Conway was settled in 1762 and incorporated in 1767, named for General Henry Seymour Conway, a leader in the British House of Commons during the repeal of the Stamp Act.
A dam break in 1869 destroyed much of the early industry that had grown up along the South River in the town center.
In February 2017, Conway was hit by the first tornado recorded in Massachusetts in the month of February.
