A little history

Industrial growth accelerated after Frederick Wolcott built a woolen mill in 1813, and brass manufacturing that began in 1834 became a major Naugatuck Valley industry.

The Flood of 1955, caused by Hurricanes Connie and Diane, destroyed much of downtown Torrington when the Naugatuck River overflowed.
