War Memorial Park
A 4.9-acre park on the Town River built in the 1930s with Works Progress Administration funding, on a site with mill history dating to the 17th century that later held the Ames Shovel Company's first factory. The park displays historic industrial artifacts and includes Pulpit Rock, where Reverend James Keith is said to have preached his first sermon in 1663. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

A little history
West Bridgewater was first settled in 1651 and was set off from the original town of Bridgewater on February 16, 1822, the second of three towns to split off (after East Bridgewater and before North Bridgewater, now Brockton).
War Memorial Park sits on a mill site dating to the 17th century that later became the first factory of the Ames Shovel Company; the park was built in the 1930s with Works Progress Administration funding and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
