Revere is a city on Boston's north shore, on the Atlantic coast at the outer end of the MBTA Blue Line. It was set off from Chelsea as North Chelsea in 1846, renamed for Paul Revere in 1871, and became a city in 1914. A little history

The area was settled in 1630 as Rumney Marsh and remained part of Boston until 1739; it was set off as North Chelsea in 1846, renamed Revere for Paul Revere in 1871, and incorporated as a city in 1914.

Revere Beach opened in 1896 as a state reservation, often cited as the first public beach in the United States.

Revere was the site of fighting during the 1775 Battle of Chelsea Creek, an early engagement of the American Revolution.
