A little history

Orange was first settled in 1746 from land taken from Royalston, Warwick and Athol, and was incorporated as a town in 1810.

After the Millers River was dammed in 1790, Orange grew into a mill town; by the late 1800s the New Home Sewing Machine Company was its largest industry.

The Grout Brothers automobile company operated in Orange in the early 1900s and is considered among the first to build automobiles in a factory setting in the United States.
