Haddam is a Connecticut River town in Middlesex County, incorporated in October 1668 and named for Much Hadham and Little Hadham in Hertfordshire, England. It is the only town in Connecticut that the Connecticut River runs through the middle of rather than along its border, splitting Higganum and the rest of the west side from the Haddam Neck section to the east. The now-decommissioned Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant once operated on the Haddam Neck side.

Haddam was incorporated in October 1668 and named after Much Hadham and Little Hadham in Hertfordshire, England.
Haddam is the only town in Connecticut through which the Connecticut River runs down the middle rather than along a border, dividing the west side (including Higganum) from the Haddam Neck section to the east.
The Connecticut Yankee Nuclear Power Plant operated on the Haddam Neck side of town until it was decommissioned.
