A little history
Settlers from Dedham explored the area beginning in 1660 and purchased land in 1661; the town was set off as independent Wrentham in October 1673.
Wrentham was burned during King Philip's War in 1675-1676.
The town gave up territory twice: North Wrentham became the separate town of Norfolk in 1870, and part of town split off to form Plainville in 1905.
