North Attleborough is a city in Bristol County on the Rhode Island line, a few miles north of Attleboro and about 22 miles from downtown Providence. It was incorporated as a town in 1887 after separating from Attleborough, and it adopted a city charter in 2019 while keeping its historic town-style name. The Ten Mile and Seven Mile rivers run through the city, and its 19th-century button and jewelry manufacturing later grew into the national ring-making brands Jostens and L.G. Balfour.

A little history
The area was part of Attleborough until it separated and incorporated as the Town of North Attleborough in 1887.
By 1834, Attleborough (before the split) was producing more buttons than anywhere else in the United States. The jewelry industry that grew out of that trade later included Jostens and the L.G. Balfour Company, both of which have made championship rings for the NFL and MLB.
The city adopted a city charter on July 1, 2019, replacing open town meeting with a city manager and a nine-member City Council.
