A little history
North Andover was originally settled as part of Andover, called Cochichawick by the Massachusett people, with the Cochichewick Plantation purchased in 1646.
The town separated from Andover's south parish and incorporated as North Andover on April 7, 1855.
Several first-period houses built before 1720 still stand in town, including the Bridges House, built around 1690.
