A little history

Middlefield was first settled in 1780 and officially incorporated in 1783.

Glendale Farm was established near the falls in the early 1770s by Revolutionary War veteran John Rhoads, but the farm was unsuccessful long-term and was sold by 1799; an 18th-century grist mill foundation still stands near the falls.
