A little history
Lebanon was incorporated by the Connecticut Colony's General Assembly on October 10, 1700, and was the first town in the colony to be given a Biblical name.
During the American Revolution, Connecticut's War Office on the Lebanon Green, next to Governor Jonathan Trumbull Sr.'s home, directed the colony's war effort; Trumbull was the only colonial governor to side with the Patriots.
William Williams, a Lebanon native and signer of the Declaration of Independence, was Governor Trumbull's son-in-law.
